"People often ask me why I chose the name ‘Sunflower Realty’ for my real estate company. Years ago as a little girl, large yellow sunflowers grew in a small flower patch in my parent’s backyard. One day, I came up with the idea of harvesting the sunflower seeds and selling them to friends and neighbors. I must have looked rather funny reaching up to the flowers, as they were taller than me at the time! But I happily bagged them and made the rounds in my neighborhood, much to my neighbors’ delight. I realized then that I not only enjoyed selling the seeds, but talking to people and providing them with something of value (even as small as a bag of seeds). Today, my original entrepreneurial spirit is reflected in my company’s name. " - Sharon

Sharon Baldwin, Broker/Owner of Sunflower Realty is more than a Realtor with 23 years experience. She grew up in Raleigh participating in her family's Home Building business, and was a successful Home Builder herself for many years. Her transition into the real estate industry also brought her much recognition and success, being named a multi-million dollar Producer each year since 1986, a President's Elite Circle Award Winner with Coldwell Banker from 1992-1994, and recipient of the MAME Award for the Most New Homes Sold and Highest Dollar Volume in 1994 and 1995. Her love of new home construction also inspired her to serve on the Parade of Homes Committee from 1997-1999.
Since she truly understands the difference between a resale and a new construction home buying experience, she is able to handle the often intricate transactions with ease. "New construction is often seen as a more difficult sale, with buyers that require more attention than resale buyers, and that is fine with me", she exclaims. "I love providing the support and answering all of their questions. It is like watching a dream come true for many of my clients, especially first time home buyers."
With all her prior success, you would imagine a driving A-type personality, but her style is relatively low-key. She is a personable, friendly Realtor with the ability to help each client on an individual basis. Her philosophy is simple; she treats each client as she would want to be treated. An avid horse-lover and all around nature enthusiast, Sharon currently lives in a quiet country subdivision just north of the hustle and bustle of North Raleigh with her toy poodle Wolfie (named after NC State's Wolfpack Mascot). She has two sons, one is a local builder and student at NC State and the other attends Brigham Young University.
